The Best Chocolate Cake Ever!

Ingredients - Cake

2      CupsFlour 
1      tsp.Baking Soda 
1      CupButter 
1      CupWater 
1/2CupButtermilk 
2      CupSugar 
1/2tsp.Salt 
1/2CupCocoa 
2       eggs 
1 1/2tsp.Vanilla 

Ingredients - Frosting

4      Tbsp.Butter 
3      Tbsp.Buttermilk 
2      CupsPowdered SugarMay need more… or less. Depends on the day.
1/2tsp.Vanilla 
4      Tbsp.Cocoa 

Ingredients - Filling

8      Tbsp.Sugar 
1       EggBeaten
1/4tsp.Cinnamon 
1      Tbsp.Cornstarach 
2      Tbsp.Cocoa 
1      CupMilk 
2       Egg Yolks 

Instructions

Cake

  1. Sift:
    Flour
    Sugar
    Soda
    Salt
  2. Bring to a boil:
    Butter
    Cocoa
    Water
  3. Mix hot liquid with dry ingredients.
  4. Mix eggs in one at a time.
    Temper the batter so you don't get scrambled eggs in your cake.
  5. Add:
    Buttermilk
    Vanilla
  6. Bake in two layers at 350° for approximately 25 minutes.
    Be careful not to over bake the cake.
  7. Fill with cinnamon filling and frost with chocolate frosting (see below).

Chocolate Frosting

  1. Cook butter, cocoa, and buttermilk until butter is melted
  2. Beat in enough powdered sugar to make stiff.
  3. Stir vanilla into frosting.

Cinnamon FIlling

  1. Mix together in saucepan:
    Sugar
    Egg
    Cinnamon
    Cocoa
    Cornstarch
    Egg Yolks
  2. Add milk gradually.
  3. Cook until thick.
  4. Cool and spread between cake layers.
