Living History Farms Pear Pie

Ingredients - Crust

2       Cups Flour  
1       tsp. Salt  
2/3 Cup Lard  
6-10       Tbsp. Water The colder the better.

Ingredients - Filling

7       Cups Pears Sliced
1       Cup Sugar  
1/3 Cup Flour  
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon  


Pie Crust

  1. This will make a double (thicker) crust.
    Blend lard and dry ingredients in a bowl with your fingers (or pastry blender) until you havev very small crumbs.
    Gradually stir in water until you have stiff dough.
    Roll out on a floured board.

Pear Filling

  1. Mix well.
  2. Bake in a Double pie shell at 375° for 1 hour.
